Speakmon Memorial Regatta

So I just walked in from my eight hour bus ride from Columbus, OH. which is where we had our final regatta for the fall season. In the regatta I was in a 4+ boat (the mens open 4+, which means we raced against colleges), and an 8+ boat (the high school mens 8+). I was very happy with my results from both races. In my 4+ race we got first place! And we beat 2nd, which was a college boat, by 23 seconds! It was a spectacular race from us rowers standpoint on the water. We passed nearly 5 boats during the race (during the fall, each race is stagger starts, so you are racing against time, not other boats. but to pass nearly 5 boats during the 17 minute race is quite fun, and super invigorating during the race. In my 8+ race we got 6th place, but our time was very good, 16:03, and we were racing against what the usual New Trier A boat races against, and we beat a few of them. Overall, I would say that today has been a good day all around.
